With a number of schools being represented at Terre Haute North on Saturday, the Lady Patriots held their own!
Libby Smith not only pulled out a double win on the Small School side of things, she was the top 3200m runner (12:33.60) and on the top 4x800m Relay team of the entire day, defeating even the large schools! Smith was joined on the 4x800m Relay by Allison High, Jennifer Romero and Kaileigh Pruitt. All 4 girls were able to drop under 2:40 to help the relays run a Season Best 10:29.65! Smith’s performance in the 3200 moves her within 10 seconds of one of the top 4 fastest times All-Time at Seeger High School and the 4×800 time moved into 4th All-Time, within 19 seconds of the school record from 2014!
All other places below were against Small School competition only:
In other distance news, Jennifer Romero and Libby Smith placed 1st and 2nd, respectively, in the 1600m run. Their times of 5:42 and 5:50 put them both in the top 10 All-Time list, joining Allison High from earlier this year!
Allison High continued her strong running with a 2nd place finish in the 800 in a time of 2:35.48 (a PR for the open 800), also putting her in the top 10 list. She was followed by a 4th and 5th place finish by Leah Kirkpatrick and Scout Puterbaugh.
In the 400m race, Kaileigh Pruitt finished 2nd by only 0.2 seconds (66.76) hampered only by being in a different heat from the 1st place finisher. Freshman Georgianna Wallpe just missed making finals in both the 100m and 200m dashes by a combined time of 0.08 seconds!! Regan Garriott, Isabelle Puterbaugh and Berlyn Guminski all made the top 10 All-Time list in the 100m Hurdles, placing 3rd, 4th, and 5th respectively and all running Season’s Best times! Isabelle Puterbaugh also placed 3rd in the 300m Hurdles! And the 4x100m Relay (I. Puterbaugh, Garriott, Wallpe and Paige Leonard) placed 2nd!
The 4x400m Relay added solid points placing 3rd overall!
In the Field Events, Pruitt made the Top 10 All-Time list in the High Jump with a new PR of 4′ 10″, placing 2nd with that effort. Isabelle Puterbaugh placed 5th in the Long Jump with a nice leap of 13′ 0.25″. While Kendal Knosp placed 3rd in the Discus throw with a throw of 75′ 8″. She may have won the Shot Put, except for a mix-up with Flights and the judge not allowing her to throw.
